I did not pass my flight physical in Jakarta because of a bladder infection (which has no affect on anyone’s ability to fly!). The flight surgeon gave me a prescription for Cipro then instructed me to re-test after a week. I took the Cipro and went to a local lab.
My mistake was allowing someone else to pick up the results for me. The results were in a sealed envelope, clearly addressed to me. Before I received the lab results, someone at the hangar faxed the results to Edmond, who submitted it to the flight surgeon. This was done without my knowledge and without my permission.
When I saw the results, I knew I would not pass, so I went to a local doctor for further treatment.
A few days later, I received an email from Hendra, cc’d to just about everyone in the place, about my medical results.

The doctor give me again the recipe medicine for you, please take it the recipe in attached file, and than after finished
Your medicine, go to lab again to check your urine.

Pleased help Kate to find some medicine in Apotek (medicine shop) for her, the recipe is on attached file, the other is reference (Rujukan ke Lab)
For re-test after she finished the medicine, and send back to me after you got the result.

How did they get the results for my medical? Did Syokron send this without my permission? Is this someone else's results? I did not authorize this information to be sent.
Also, they did not measure my blood pressure, so how can they say it is high?
Also, the prescription is for the same stuff they gave me before. If there is a problem, I should be taking a real anti-biotic, and not Cipro. I've taken the Cipro and it has no effect on me.
1. I do not want anyone forwarding my medical information without my knowledge.
2. I want a prescription for a real antibiotic.

Bottom line: my medical information is mine and not for the world. Also, I knew the results would not pass and am taking steps to rectify things. The more times it is sent, the more likely they will not give me a medical. At the very least, I should have been informed of who received my medical information. I could have told you or Hendra NOT to submit it for the medical.
The more times they reject me, the harder it will be to pass.
My medical results were in a sealed envelope addressed to me. No one should have opened it without my permission. Someone opened it before I got a chance to see it and sent it on. This is wrong. I don't like it.

I got the lab result from pak Syukran and he got it from the clinic of prodia. And as they (lab people) said and know that the result is for given to medical center in Jakarta and on the lab result is mention your name on its. and its not private or confidential but its general for company and this result is for medical center in Jakarta and its also not put in sealed envelope. *** Note: This is not true. ***
In fact no one of us know how to read that lab result except the doctor who asked and give the receipt and asked you for do the re-test. *** Note: I know how to read the lab result. ***
And I know the result also from the doctor in medical center in Jakarta.
Balai Kesehatan Penerbang (DGCA Medical Centre), the doctor who received the lab result explain to me that :
They still can not give the certificate to you and you should do the re-test and drinks some medicine again. And the procedure that we done is the general procedure that usually done. The doctor said that the lab result that we asked is not for individual but for company (LIFT). And the result is to determine whether ms. Kate can get the medical certificate as flight instructor or not or.. should be take another test again.
In this chase we just do the procedure normally with hope the process can be done in quick and you can got the certificate agree with the profession that you have.

Edmond called me later that day. His argument was that this is Indonesia and he shouldn’t have to ask my permission every time he needs my medical information. I told him that medical privacy is the same all over the world and that it is not acceptable to steal my data without my permission. I happen to know that even in Indonesia, medical privacy is respected. This remains a sore spot between us.
